Turns out, I’m not alone. In fact, I’ve got some wonderfully talented company!Shortly after deciding to start my own business, after picking the name, finding the venue, and investing in supplies, I also made another important commitment. I didn’t want to start just another baby crafts business. I know how incredibly fortunate I am to have the opportunity to be home with my two young sons and that I have means to start my own crafting business, how lucky I am to have time to paint, to write, to bead, to craft. I feel deeply that I have a responsibility to help others that have not been as fortunate. When I started Babee Crafts, I made a commitment to give a portion of my profits to other struggling entrepeanus through Kiva. And it turns out that a number of Etsy artists share my passion for giving back. So I wanted to find a way to share the talents of my fellow Etsians and all the wonderful causes they support through their art and crafts.
I’m pleased to announce the Great Gift, Good Cause Giveaway hosted by Babee Crafts.
Beginning Monday, May 23rd, fans will be invited to enter the Great Gift, Good Cause Giveaway to win a variety of prizes donated by Etsy artists who share a commitment in giving back. Sponsors of the giveaway support a variety of causes and organizations. You’ll find prizes that are creatively upcycled in an eco-friendly way and artists that use their profits to support children’s cancer research. The giveaway features the work of artists who donate a portion of their profits to animal rescue centers and artists who take into account their ecological footprint as they create their art. Over the next two weeks, I’ll be sharing with you a bit more about each of the sponsors and the causes they support. So check back regularly to learn more about the causes and organizations our sponsors are passionate about and why you should be too!
But wait! There’s more. It wouldn’t be right to host a giveaway focused on artists that give back without…well, giving back! So, I need your help. During the next week, fans will be voting for a cause and organization they would like to support on the Babee Crafts’ Facebook page. Then, beginning Monday, May 23rd, along with entering to win fabulous prizes, fans will be asked to consider making a donation to our winning cause/organization. And, I’ll be matching donations! (Okay, up to $500. But if we can get more than $500 in donations, I’ll be going in search of other sponsors to help me match fan donations!) I'll have a donation link (via PayPal) added to this blog as a way to connect to the organization you've helped select.
